Traditional Craft

Agropur Grand Cheddar is made according to a traditional process. Whether it's quality control of the milk, development of our bacterial cultures or maturing, each production step is overseen by experienced master cheese makers to ensure the authenticity and purity of the finished product.

In the end, our connoisseurs of taste, texture and smell rely on their heightened senses to periodically sample the 1, 2, 3 and 5 year old cheddars that have spent time maturing in our aging cellars. Only the cheeses that meet the sensory selection criteria for aged cheddar are retained. The others are set aside for products not requiring long maturation.
